Hi everyone,

We are currently running Dynamics CRM 2013 on premise on Windows Server 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2012 for 4 users right now in a production environment.  We just set it up and are evaluating it and right now have it on a AMD Phenom II X4 955 processor, with 4GB of ram and 128GB SSD.  The system works perfectly runs very fast and is great.  This system is just being borrowed from another task so I want to replace it with another server either an older used rack mounted IBM server, or will just throw together some new components.

I was looking at a used IBM X3650  which comes with a Xeon X5450 processor at 3Ghz in it and 24GB of ram, and then also looking at for around the same price building a system with an AMD A8-6600K processor with 8GB of ram to start.

Been using CPUBoss.com to compare the processors and they all seem somewhat close.  The Phenom runs it fine so want something that will be similar.  The AMD A8 seems like the better option but the reason I'm leaning towards the IBM is due to it being a 2U rack mounted server , having the 24GB ram already, and being an actual server vs thrown together parts.

The IBM is used and older of course so just curious if there's anything here that stands out to anyone as being off or being better than another.  Also before anyone asks why I'm looking at these specs, it's more due to price as this is just for a production, but sandbox development server for 3-4 users at most and light usage.  Again as mentioned the Phenom X4 II 955 is running it perfectly right now with no issues at all.
